Your NY State Licensed Mold Assessor

David French

David French

I bring my entire working career of knowledge and experience to each one of my assessments and inspections. All my life I was brought up around houses and construction. My father was a collector of antique woodworking tools so my interest in how things are put together and how they work has been ingrained in me from an early age.

I performed hundreds of inspections over 6 years in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Jersey with a leading mold remediation company. My wife and I decided to start our own company to use my life experiences to help homeowners and realtors get honest answers. I am a New York State Certified Mold assessor. I am ready to bring that experience and knowledge to uncover any potential issues in your home.
I pride myself on excellent customer service and competitive, fair pricing as I work to help each of my clients.

When you need environmental consulting services, you can count on us to provide:

We also test for scientific proof of normal fungal ecology in the home and provide home health packages for realtors to assure everyone involved in the transaction that there are no environmental issues involved with the property. As part of the Certificate of Occupancy, the state of New York has required a "Blower Door" test on all new home builds since October 3, 2016.

KD Environmental Consulting Services performs mold assessments and clearance inspections in accordance with a New York State law enacted to protect consumers when it comes to mold remediation. The new Mold Program, under the direction of the New York State Department of Labor, went into effect on Jan. 1, 2016.

What to Expect From Your Mold Assessor

Review the Fact Sheet from the New York State Department of Labor

Ever since, the state's Department of Labor has been responsible for enforcing Article 32 of the New York State Labor Law, which establishes licensing requirements and minimum work standards for professionals engaged in mold assessment and remediation.

The 2 most important points of the law include:

  • Protection against fraud by prohibiting the performance of both the assessment and remediation on the same property by the same individual/company;
  • Protection against fraud by requiring an independent mold assessment to define the scope of the remediation work

To this end, KD Environmental Consulting Services will only be performing these Mold Assessments and Mold Testing to provide superior unbiased service to my customers. We will not be handling remediations.

Instead, we will do the best assessment possible and recommend a course of action for the best possible outcome. Following remediation work by another party, you can request a clearance inspection to determine the successful elimination of mold and efficacy of the cleanup.
